Fr. Michael writes: When the wise men leave their gifts with the child Jesus they take away a treasure that surpasses anything they brought themselves. They take away the gift of knowing who Jesus is. They are enriched by him and then can enrich others with the truth. They are a summary of all those who journey in hope to Jesus and find him in their heart. The wise men do not stay in Judea, they do not build a monument to mark the place of discovery. They return to their own country: faith in Jesus has no geographical boundary, but is a gift to be shared with others. We too seek the face of the living God. But we find Christ here in the Mass in the word and breaking of bread and the midst of the community. Let us celebrate the presence of Christ and enrich the lives of those we meet with He who has been revealed to us.Epiphany of the Lord
