2nd Sunday of the Year – 15th January 2012

Fr. Michael writes:   “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening”. We will hear these words at Mass in the first reading this Sunday.  They remind us that we are here to listen to God.  In the Gospel we hear Jesus say to his first two disciples:- “Come and see”. They accepted his invitation and had a wonderful encounter with him after which their lives were never the same again.  Christ is forever passing by for each of us.  He is always available to those who are sincerely looking for him.  But he never intrudes into our lives.  People who love do not act like that.  He says to us what he says to John and Andrew:- “Come and see”. If we accept his invitation we can be sure he will reveal to us the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.2nd Sunday of the Year
